One of the (if not the) most prominent and popular locations in Govardhan is Shri Giridhari Gaudiya Math Temple and Guest House. The temple was established in 2005 by Shril Bhakti Vedant Narayan Goswami Maharaj, The founder Achrya of Shri Gaudiya Vedant Samiti Trust (Regd.) and International Gaudiya Vedant samiti (Regd.). The temple has ancient and traditional Indian architecture and is made of red stone. The architecture and construction of temple is extremely pleasant and picturesque. The temple also houses residence to devotees who are engaged in pursuit of devotion (called brahmacharis and sanyasis).
The temple has beautiful paintings and murals of pastimes of Shri Krishna in Vraj, pastimes of Shri Ram and Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu are also displayed on walls. The temple is also the residence of our acharya Shrila Bhakti Vedanta Narayan Goswami Maharaj, whenever he is in India for some length of time.
Along side the temple is a beautiful and picturesque park and the building of the Guest House. The guest house has 80 rooms of different types to provide good accommodation to suit different needs. The Guest House has air conditioned rooms, non air conditioned air cooled rooms with attached bathroom and also simple rooms with common but clean toilets. The temple and The Guest House have adequate wide spaced halls which are offered to budget tourists as dormitory accommodation. The guest house has facilities to provide facilities to organse Annakoot Festivals. Many devotees organize “bhandaras”. Bhandara is an open invitation to people nearby to come and have lunch or dinner as the case may be.
